Jacksonville-based venture capital firm PS27 announced Tuesday its investment in RYZE Superfoods, an e-commerce company that sells mushroom coffee.
The investment is the second from PS27’s $20 million Rhea Fund announced earlier this year,
according to a news release. The fund focuses on identifying and funding women founders and people of color and will invest in more than 20 companies over the next five years.
“With PS27’s investment and support, we will be able to continue to bring an entire range of superfood products to market, as well as explore new areas for product expansion and help our customers continue to live a healthy lifestyle,” said Rashad Hossain, CEO of RYZE Superfoods, in the news release. “We are thrilled to have PS27 backing us as we chart our next chapter.”
The Rhea fund is specifically seeking to invest in software as a service companies, healthtech, fintech, sustainability and e-commerce and in companies that can scale and grow rapidly via Amazon, Shopify or Google Market platforms, according to the same release.
