First steps: I listened as my husband told me for years that companies would eventually adopt electronic payments. So, when presented with an opportunity to buy a company to solve such problems, I jumped at the chance. I started OnPay Solutions with the intent to help companies make a digital transformation to electronic payments. Today, OnPay Solutions’ mission is to empower people to improve the lives of Accounting Departments, globally.
Biggest challenge & learning lesson: It took a while to “figure out” how to hire the right people for our front-line tech roles — good techs are not necessarily service-oriented. Once we realized that our team needed a stronger service component and that behind-the-scenes people can handle deeper tech, our client experiences improved.
Piece of advice you wish you had known when you first started? I wish we had created and published our company mission statement more clearly at a much earlier stage of the company. Once we became more consistent delivering this messaging a few years ago, things seemed to “click” more.
How has your business or industry been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic? WFH resulted in corporations and businesses realizing now that they must solve their paper-based accounts payable processes that they have been clinging to for far too long because it was simply easier to just pay a vendor by check than by electronic payments.
What does being an Entreprenista mean to you & How can our community help you during this time? Being a part of this community inspires me. I’m excited to share in the passion my fellow Entreprinistas display as they overcome challenges — regardless of their industry, age, or product.
