Jacksonville-based tech firm IntoGo, an event and entertainment finder application for mobile devices, recently signed its largest, exclusive contract with Visit Jacksonville.
The company’s app will replace the city tourism group’s existing platform to connect users to the region’s beaches, parks, cultural attractions and restaurants.
“More than ever, visitors are engaging with our destination via mobile. They are using their phones to research our website and connect with us via social media, so it is very fitting for us to solidify this partnership with intoGo and provide visitors comprehensive destination information specifically formatted for
their mobile devices,” said Katie Mitura, vice president of marketing and communication at Visit Jacksonville.
The app, which provides users with things to do and places to go by using machine learning to identify their preferences, was developed in Jacksonville in January 2016. After 11 months of testing, the app launched to the public. The app has received more than 12,000 downloads, most all in the Jacksonville area.
Since the deal was penned in April, IntoGo has already experienced a 10 percent increase in downloads, said CEO Zachary Schwartz.
He said he hopes to have at least 50,000 users and a strong presence in two additional markets within the year.
